I was fourteen when I heard the first song from the album Red. It was the summer of 2012 and I was turning fifteen. I can remember going shopping on my birthday with my mum, we were in Bournemouth in an apparel store when the song I'd been singing repeatedly for over a month came on, on my birthday – We Are Never Getting Back Together.

September – possibly my favourite month of the year, and that's not just because it's my birthday month. I love September for a multitude of reasons – the start of autumn being the main reason.

I turned 24 on Saturday – and in all honesty, that's absolute madness. How am I 24 years of age... I have no idea.

Mercury Retrograde rolled around again on May 29th, so if like me you've been experiencing mishaps – let's all collectively agree to just blame it on Mercury.

I was sitting in my living room last week after handing in my final assignment for my degree, and I thought to myself "wow, I'm free" – fast forward a week and I am the opposite of free. But I bloody love it. Being busy gives me life, an effervescence that is unstoppable and exciting.

If you know me, you'll know I love all things vintage. And if you've read my blog for a while, you'll know I love Collectif's Caterina Dress. There's something about the whimsy, 1950s vintage vibe that this dress exudes that just makes me BEAM with happiness.

It's been a long, long while since I sat at my laptop to write a piece for this little old space. I never imagined I'd neglect my blog for two months – but fear not, because I am back!

Flowers for Mother's Day? Ground-bathing. Did you like that pun? I hope you did.. even though it's probably not the slightest bit funny. But in all seriousness.. a bouquet is beautiful and full of sentiment, but treating your mum to a relaxing bathing experience is one step ahead of the curve.

[ad-pr products: Desenio prints + frames were pr gifts]

Since moving to my London apartment in January 2020, it has been an ongoing lockdown project to turn my home into a sanctuary. Having items around my home that make me feel happy is imperative to keep a healthy mind. Desenio has kindly gifted me a few prints and frames to add a touch of personality to my home, and it's safe to say that I am in love.

Before the pandemic hit, I was an avid coffee-shop attendee. Coffee shop coffee is incomparable to the 'fresh out of the jar coffee' that you get from the supermarket and stir into your mug with hot water. Freshly ground coffee and frothy heated milk just hits different. There's something about the smell, the aroma, the taste – the way it's bitter but smooth, the way it's hot and frothy, and the way it envelopes your senses and tastebuds.

Valentine's Day comes around each year and I'm reminded of just how single I am. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind being single – in fact, I've realised I'm happier than I've ever been. I've finally stopped wanting to fall in love with somebody else and I've started to fall in love with myself instead. So, I'm here to introduce you to some new beautiful products from LUSH – they make the perfect self-love gift to yourself...

LUSH kindly gifted me some dreamy rose-scented Valentine's treats and I just haaaad to share them with you. If you're a lover of anything rose-scented, then you'll adore this quad – for dreamy products to help you practice self-love this V-Day...

Love Me Do Bath Bomb

RRP: £6.95

If you're a lover of deep and heady scents, then this clever bath bomb is for you. With rich scents of Pakistani Rose Absolute, Dried Red Roses, Lavender and Ylang Ylang – this gorgeous bath bomb really is a delightful luxury. You drop the entire thing into the tub (with the cloth on) and it infuses your bath with a gorgeous red colour and rose fragrance, what's not to love?

Rose Argan Massage Bar

RRP: £8.00

This opulent massage bar makes the perfect sensual self-love gift to you. Bursting with fragrance, this massage bar has a potent scent of rosewater, which is just perfect if you love floral and rosy scents. With argan oil to soften skin, this massage bar hydrates your skin deeply while leaving it lightly scented for hours. This bar will last you a long time because of the pure potency of the fragrance and the longevity of its design/ingredients. I adore this massage bar and use it in place of body moisturiser once in a while, the perfect treat my skin needs this V-Day.

Heart Beat Bath Bomb

RRP: £5.95

If you like the old-time classic LUSH product 'Bubbleroon Rose Jam' – then you'll love the Heart Beat Bath Bomb, as it actually belongs to the Rose Jam family. This Limited Edition bath bomb will leave you feeling loved up and luscious, moisturised and velvety smooth. Drop into your bath, hop in, lay back and unwind to the scent of roses, while the cocoa butter hearts work their magic on your skin. Also, there's popping candy inside this bath bomb (AKA my favourite ever bath bomb ingredient).

Keep It Fluffy Perfume Bubble Bottle

RRP: £10

Stepping away from the rose-tinted hues of this post and into a slightly lighter, more fluffy fragrance... the Keep It Fluffy Perfume Bubble Bottle is such a fun addition to this post. Shaped like a luxe perfume bottle, the fragrance of this bathing accompaniment combines powdery vanilla with jasmine, for an 'old-school glamour' fragrance that makes you feel beautiful. Perfect for an opulent Friday night treat or a Tuesday afternoon pick-me-up – this stunning bubble bottle will give you up to 8 sweetly scented baths!

Something else that is amazing... the Pakistani rose that is used in LUSH products is sustainably sourced. Read about the full venture here. I really love how LUSH work towards sustainability – they fight for so many amazing causes and I am truly blessed to have been able to collaborate with them!

I'm a UK size 16 (I've basically shouted this from the rooftops, so I'm sure you're all aware of this fact) and it's no secret that I love wearing bold ensembles. For me, fashion is about expression – growing up, I wasn't popular, and being in a school uniform for most of my teenage life severely stunted my fashion self-discovery. It wasn't until I had two years off of school due to having gallstones, that I actually figured out who I was and what I liked, in terms of fashion.

After getting into fashion more, I began to see a trend – the plus size clothing ranges that were (and still are) sold in high-street stores aren't fashionable, and many plus size/curvy women tend to shy away from colour, pattern and daring styles.

Being a bigger girl who loves fashion is a peculiar situation to be in. I'm expected to be ashamed of my body, which means I'm expected to want to keep it covered with baggy clothes in dark hues – but this is where I rip up the rule book, and that's exactly what I did when I started to get into my own fashion grove.

When I was 17, I started college in a new town and I went as an unapologetic, fashion-loving, sassy-minded version of myself. It worked out pretty well and from then on – I haven't looked back.

I used to conceal my figure in dark garments and baggy t-shirts.. but now I wear bright coloured trousers and fitted tops – broad hips and VBO on display and zero fucks given

I don't listen to the fat fashion stereotypes – I don't wear baggy clothes like I once did as a teen. I don't live in long, baggy knitted dresses in hues of grey; I don't hold a bag in the crook of my arm to hide my belly; I don't wear horrid clothes while nice ones sit in my wardrobe waiting for me to 'get thin'. I'm fashionably liberated and liberated with fashion, and because of this I wear whatever I want – block colours, odd colour combos, patterns, stripes (both horizontally and vertically), and fitted clothes too.

I no longer let my big bum stop me from wearing the clothes I love. When I was younger I was stuck in a cycle of wearing dark clothes to 'shrink' my figure and silhouette, and long tops to cover my bum – but now I wear bright coloured trousers with a fitted top tucked in and I feel FIERCE and FABULOUS and SEXY.

This post was a gentle reminder to wear whatever the hell you want. If it makes you feel good and put together and like you can conquer anything... just go for it. Although scary at first, you'll feel exhilarated and amazing because you took the leap.. (even if it is just to take out the bins)...
