Organising your outfits in advance | Surely I'm not the only one?

Friday 10 August 2018

Am I the only one? I organise my outfits in advance, and it's honestly one of my favourite pastimes. Yes, I'm aware of how completely loopy it sounds, and I've had a hilarious response on twitter – people wishing they were as organised as me, and people praising me for my organisational skills. It's mad because I have always been like this, for as long as I can remember in fact...

Most Sunday's I'll prepare all of my outfits for the week ahead, or failing that, I'll prepare each night for the following day. I'll look in my wardrobe, style a week's worth of outfits, select accessories, get out the shoes, scarves and bags required, and then hang them upon my gorgeous rails, ready for the week ahead. I understand this may sound excessive and slightly 'extra', but aside from being 'extra' myself, I love to be organised. I'm not sure if it's in my blood, a Virgo trait, or just a blogger thing – but being organised is everything and I cannot stand not knowing what I'm wearing or doing.

In the past friends have laughed at my need for being organised, and they've mocked me for wanting to know the times of plans or for planning my outfits in advance. But more fool them – I'd much rather have a life planned in perfect harmony then live in a complete and utter muddle, where my life falls apart around me. I like my bed made neatly every morning, I like my makeup put away after each use, I cannot stand clothing on the floor – and I'm sure it's not just me who's like this. So yeah, organising my clothes and outfits for the week is a part of me that won't ever fade away.

You're probably wondering what I do if there's a change in the weather. Well like Taylor Swift once sang, "You can plan for a change in the weather" – it's true you can! And I do! I always have a back up plan – a matching umbrella, a matching rain coat, my trusty stone hued trench – I'm organised, what can I say?

So like previously mentioned, I'll hang out my clothes the week/night before on my gorgeous Ziito Clothes Rails (I have two 50cm Double Clothes Rails in the colour E1dr, a gorgeous industrial silver). It does seem excessive, but I would honestly look a tad mad and know exactly what I'm doing and what I'll be wearing.

I've always found it extremely hard to find a decent clothes rail. I had one not so long ago, a part plastic/part bendy metal pink and silver rail, and it was HELL. Honestly, the amount of times it would collapse, buckle, bend and topple over was horrendous. I didn't think a decent clothes rail existed until I found these amazing ones from Ziito! Made from galvanised steel, these rails are very industrial looking, and of an industrial quality also! SO sturdy, and SO strong – these clothes rails are heavy, easy to assemble and they take a lot of weight too (I trialled hanging all of my coats (heavy winter coats) from these rails, and they passed with flying colours)! The Ziito 50cm Double Clothes Rails retail at £125 each, plus £8 shipping. You'll get a 10 year warranty too which is amazing! The hangers I'm using with these rails, are also from Ziito!

These rails are really handy, especially if you're like me and have to be organised, especially on the outfit front! A true investment and SO amazing for fashionistas! They ensure your bedroom decor, Instagram feed and wardrobe are all on fleek... I'm love.

Do you plan your outfits in advance? Please tell me I'm not the only one!!

  1. Haha this made me laugh because I actually enjoy organizing my outfits ahead of time (in my head). I really want to get a clothing rack just so that I can have everything laid out. I love the flowers you included!
