Life is hectic and working full time means I don't have as much time as I did when I was a carefree 16-year-old taking outfit snaps and reviewing the latest drug store lipstick. Gosh, I miss that desperately, but I'm beyond grateful to be able to live the life I dreamed of at that age.
Anyway, Easter has just come and gone, and I'd have to argue that I much prefer it to Christmas. It's sunnier, brighter, the roast is better, the decor is prettier and I can finally wear dresses without jackets and tights. And despite working for some of the Bank Holiday weekend, I still managed to have a relaxing couple of days where I switched off and kicked back.
In between sniffling thanks to hayfever (and this awful scratchy throat I seem to have acquired because of it), I enjoyed a day of relaxation on Easter Sunday, a gorgeous lamb roast, one too many Easter Eggs and the ultimate pamper, courtesy of LUSH*.
I started my Easter Sunday by watching a few episodes of Only Fools and Horses with my mum. We had a super lazy morning. PJs, Easter Eggs and OFAH. I then decided to sort my wardrobe out a bit - knitted work attire away and dresses firmly out and hung up. Summer is en route after all.
Dinner was incredible. The most amazing leg of lamb (my favourite), some cavolo nero, chantenay carrots, parsnips, roast potatoes, rich gravy and mint sauce. Perfection. I honestly prefer this so much over turkey and sprouts!
I then wanted to have a bit of a pamper. Despite feeling groggy thanks to my hayfever, I ran a gorgeous golden bath thanks to LUSH. I ran my bath with a little crumble of the Swirly Sticky Dates Bubble Bar*, some Golden Egg Shower Gel* and then once half filled, I added the Munching Bunny Bath Bomb*.
The bathing experience was so decadent and luxurious, and I emerged from the water with silky smooth, sweet-smelling skin. I then finished off the Easter-themed pamper session by spritzing myself with the Golden Egg Glitter Mist Spray* - which is truly my new favourite LUSH product!
The following day, on Easter Monday, I used a little bit of the Easter Bunny Bath Bomb* and a smidge of the Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt*, which made such a sweet-smelling combination for a morning soak.
The Bank Holiday Monday saw my hayfever still beat me down, but I managed to head to the cinema to watch the new movie The Drama, which was SO good. Honestly such a twist if you're completely unaware... which annoyingly, I wasn't... occupational hazard of being a showbiz journalist, I guess!
I also took back an outfit I bought that did not spark joy, and exchanged it for a dress I LOVE and know I will wear for years and years to come.
I wore the dress on Tuesday, which was a lieu day I had. On Tuesday, I headed to some hospital appointments with my mum before heading into Chelsea to pick up some bits in M&S and Peter Jones. I also tried out new cafe Linea, which is right by the Saatchi Gallery. We sat out in their terrace area - the sun was shining, we had a latte and shared a slice of cake and it was just a picture-perfect day.
Anyway, I hope you had a lovely Easter, dear reader!
