Outfits I've Worn To The Office As A Plus Size Girly In Q1

Friday, 1 May 2026

When I set my sights on becoming a journalist, I was so excited to start working in an office. I had dreams of walking through a revolving door donning chic office outfits with my hair perfectly blown out. Well, the chic office outfits is true, but the perfect blow out, not so much (thanks trains and tubes).

I'm still pretty smug about my career. Even with a freelancing stint, fixed term contracts, signing the contract for my dream job before shock redundancy, and then finally a job I love and have hopes of progression in.

I feel like such a young professional twenty-something when I flick my hair and walk through the revolving door three mornings out of five each week. And then when I get in the elevator and see my outfit in the reflection, I just know 15-year-old Mollie is screaming "who is this chic lady and what on earth does she do???". Well, that chic lady is you, and you're a journalist for a national newspaper, honey.

Anyway... back to the main topic. Curvy office outfits.

I LOVE dressing my curves in joyful ways, and that's exactly what I do on office days. I obviously keep things a tad more professional for the office, but I still love to lean into bright colours occasionally.

It really is all about dressing in what makes YOU feel good. F*ck what other people think... f*ck if they think you're dressed too over the top, and f*ck if they think you're too much or not enough. If you feel good in something and it's office appropriate, curvy girls need to just go for it.

In the winter I love wearing knitted skirt suits with tights and loafers, or dresses with tights and boots, or trousers with blouses or jumpers. In the spring I tend to ditch darker colours and heavier fabrics, but still wear my black trousers quite a lot (because they're just such an easy wear to the office).

In the summer, I opt for midi skirts and short T-shirts, trousers with off-the-shoulder blouses, long dresses, midi dresses with sandals, trainers or loafers on my feet.

I want to start doing more blog posts about my curvy office outfits, but for now, I'll share some of my favourite outfits I've worn this year to the office.

Here are my favourite looks from Q1...
