Curves In Colour – How I'm Embracing The Rainbow As A Plus-Size Babe

[ad-pr | gifted dress from Never Fully Dressed]

I love bright colours. Whether it's my fuchsia velvet sofa, a brightly coloured wallpaper or a some yellow sunflowers – bright colours bring me so much joy and happiness. The same goes for my clothing. Brightly coloured clothes make me feel so happy, so confident and so full of life.

As a plus-size woman, who wears a size 16–18, feeling confident in my clothes is paramount. And for me, bright colours and fun patterns are what make me feel my absolute best.

Instead of hiding away in pieces of clothing that allow me to fade into the background, I'd rather look amazing and stand out. Because let's face it, being a curvy gal means you're probably going to stand out anyway, so why not embrace it?

Although very partial to a bit of houndstooth, a dash of leopard print, and a healthy helping of anything floral – lately I've been reaching for brightly coloured garments and accessories. After all, dopamine dressing is still alive and kicking, right?

So, when I was kindly sent this beautiful pink wrap dress from Never Fully Dressed, I was simply over the moon and could not wait to style it up with some vivid accessories.

The Pink Mirror Wrap Dress from Never Fully Dressed [gifted item, not an ad, not an aff link], is simply exquisite. I'm quite funny with my dresses as I don't like them too long or too short, so was a little dubious at first. But as soon as I slipped into this dreamy rainbow frock, I was enamoured by the way it hugged by curves and accentuated my waist.

If I was heading to a glamorous event I'd style this dress with sheer/nude tights and some chunky heels, but because I wanted a fun and funky daytime look, I wanted to take it in a completely different direction.

For my unique daytime look, I decided to style the wrap dress (I'm wearing a size 18) with some red tights, beige boots, my favourite Love Beads necklaces by Lauren Rubinski, and a sweet Y2K-inspired crocheted bag.

I just think that more is more, and why shouldn't we go all out? Bright colours can really make you feel full of life, zest and effervescence, which is why I'm embracing them in the way I am. Who cares if I'm curvy/chubby/fat/plus-size? I'm embracing my body, I'm embracing fashion, and I'm embracing colour in exactly the way I want.

The beautiful dress, which is adorned in multi-coloured sparkly polka dots, looks so great styled up in this funky and brash way. Full of fun and incredibly trendy, it's perfect for brunch with the girls or even a super fashionable Fashion Week event.

I honestly felt so confident taking these photos and wearing this frock for the day. Accentuating my curvy figure, cinching in my waist, a sexy thigh-high slit, and a worry-free wrap fastening – I am obsessed.

I am simply obsessed with this gorgeous garment and am super excited to style it up in an array of different ways. Stay tuned on my Instagram page to see how I'll style this up in the near future. I'm thinking sheer tights and chunky shoes, or even layered and worn as a kimono or longline blouse. The possibilities are endless...
